Louisville Arena (YUM Center) City of Louisville, Kentucky

This new multi-purpose, multi-event arena is in downtown Louisville. It is the new home of the University of Louisville Men’s and Women’s basketball programs. Additionally, it is designed to accommodate a wide variety of other events including NCAA championships, concerts, and circuses. The seven-level facility is approximately 690,000sf with 22,000 seating capacity and 72 suites. The construction cost was approximately $249 million.

Responsibilities included lighting design for the facility which included concourse, meeting rooms, locker rooms, training rooms, restaurants, bars, all spectator seating areas, suites, and lighting for signage/advertising as well as architectural features. This included power, controls, choosing and specification of lighting fixtures and controls, heavy coordination with interior designers, Owner, architects, and contractors, details for installation especially of custom fixtures, and value engineering.
